ASUS K52J Laptop not tuing on, no indicator lights, charger is good, battery is good

I have an ASUS K52J. The charger is good (tested on a second identical laptop). The battery is good (ditto). When the charger is plugged into the laptop, the charging indicator light won't tu on (all other lights are off as well). The laptop does not respond in any way when I push the power button.

What could possibly be the problem here? I would guess power jack, if I didn't know that the battery was charged. I would guess power button, if the indicator lights weren't lighting up. Motherboard? Would this affect the indicator lights?
