On Windows 10 caot recoect after discoect from working VPN coection

Under settings -> network & inteet I have added a VPN coection that works on coect. When I try to discoect, it discoects. The problem is trying to recoect after that. When I click coect on the Windows 10 VPN entry again it blinks quickly showing "coecting...", then without error displays the "coect" "advanced options" "remove" buttons again. Rebooting allows me to recoect again, but only once just as before. Any workarounds or fixes?
