How can I prevent windows 10 inteet explorer tabs from sleeping when screen is locked on a tablet?

I am trying to sort out an issue with a webpage I have for one of my clients. I have set up some javascript preventing another tab of the same url being opened in the same browser to combat a bug in previous versions of the site. The problem I am now having is that the original problem can be replicated when a user locks their tablet with the power button as the browser goes idle, then hits the home button and clicks the tile we use to open the url. Basically the script I have written stops when the browser goes Idle, is there any way I can prevent the browser tab going idle while screen is locked?
