Writing a python file to repeat sql commands weekly [on hold]

Im working with Open Stack(linux) . It coects to mariadb and I want a group of sql statements and one python statement to run weekly. I have been trying a couple of python packages like mysqldb and mysql_coector. None seem to work. Any thoughts on how I should proceed.
