How do I restore files I have deleted?

I have deleted some images and folders. I used a program to restore them, but some are corrupted. i used an online method to fix them, but only some got fixed. I used Facebook to download those files. Is there any possibility to find them through Facebook? (They aren't anywhere in my computer). I was thinking to restore my computer as it was a week ago using System Restore. Will it retu my files and images (that were not deleted a week ago) without causing any damage?
