Multibooting on ssd

Im new here so if i posted wrong please move to the appropriate area.

What i want to do is multiboot windows 10 with windows 10 with ubuntu. I know this seems stupid but my reasoning is that i will be in college soon. I have multibooted before but only on hdd not ssd. Theoretically it should be possible to duplicate an OS partition and multiboot 2 versions of the same OS on the same device because they share the same hardware serials, specifics, and windows product keys and are only ever used one at a time. My reasoning is:

Windows 10: college things

Duplicated windows 10: free time

Ubuntu: miscellaneous.

I recently bought a new laptop and what i am confused about is that the ssd in it has 3 partitions. EFI system, the OS:windows 10, and the recovery partition. I have never encountered an EFI system partition and dont know what it is for so can someone explain it to me and would it make multibooting 2 windows 10 OS and ubuntu difficult? Can it be erased? The other thing i am confused about is the recovery partition. Lets say i duplicate the windows 10 OS and both are able to be booted into. If i want to factory reset the duplicated windows 10 OS then

1 can i boot into the recovery partition?

2 if i can, does it reset the original OS partition or the duplicated one?

3 if i want to factory reset the original windows 10 partition will i be able to do it?

The reason i am doing this is because extra hdd or ssd is not an option and i NEED a separate OS for college and would prefer the OS i use in my free time to be the same as that one, hence the multiple windows 10 OS's on one ssd. Please do not suggest anything else like buying anything or a different windows version, Just help me please. Any questions please ask!! And thank you for the help!!
