I have a couple of cables wired behind the walls in a room, fronted by wallplates:
A USB cable with female ends either side A HDMI cable.
I installed wallports, and tested before I plastered the walls, but since plastering the USB doesn't work (Windows states unrecognised device error when connected.)
I need USB connectivity, so was wondering if I could use USB -> HDMI adapters at either end of the HDMI cable, and use this as regular USB. Is that possible? Would it work? Does the length of the HDMI cable matter (I know it does for USB extensions). The HDMI cable is about 3-5 meters long.
