My hp laptop G6 2304tx shuts down suddenly after installing ubuntu along side previously added Windows 8.1?

My laptop is model hp 2304 tx.It had windows 8.1.I use grub2 for booting.It works fine on ubuntu but it shuts down suddenly while using Windows 8.1.It is happening recently after I installed ubuntu .How to solve this problem

edit: I had a faulty battery which I have removed and am ruing it directly on AC power.Can a faulty charger cause this problem?
