Play HEVC (h.265) with BSPlayer

I have searched a lot these days in order to find a way to be able to play h.265 encoded video files with BSPlayer but all I could find was dead-end old BS Player forum threads.

KMPlayer does play them, but I prefer BSPlayer's fabulous automatic subtitle system, the fact that it doesn't lose the audio-video sync when navigating through the video, and other small bits I got used to over the years.
