Accessing nginx server when offline

Yo!

I've been trying to get nginx to work when I'm offline, but both Iceweasel and Chromium complains about not being able to access the domain. It works just fine when I have Inteet access.

I'm wondering if I should configure anything differently to be able to access my local websites offline. I'm running Debian Jessie with the latest version of nginx from their repository. The tests were made using Iceweasel and Chromium, which are basically Firefox and Google Chrome.

I've tried Googling for solutions, but it appears to be a not so common problem. This makes me believe that no special configuration is required.

The domain I use (rather than localhost) is wanderland.dev, and as I said, this works great when I'm online, but whenever I tu off the wifi I can't access the sites anymore. Wanderland.dev is configured to 127.0.0.1 in the hosts file. (I just realized, so a note to self: gotta check if 127.0.0.1 doesn't apply when offline for some reason.)

And yes, both the server and files are on my local pc. I've also tried offline-mode in the browsers, but that complained about being in offline-mode and not being able to access the Inteet.

I'm not sure which logs to check, or what else to check or do for that matter, and I've run out of queries for Google. Any ideas?

Thanks
