After updating Cyperlink software my NEW (3 month old) blue ray player won't play a blue ray

My hubby bought me an LG Blue ray player in March this year (2016). I tried to play a NEW blue ray on it and it wouldn't play, Cyberlink said I had to update it. So I did the free download TWICE and I STILL can't play a new blue rays. By new I mean new movies. I was able to watch an older movie on blue ray, one made in the 50's and put on blue ray, but Cyberlink will not allow my player to run any of the new movies like Spectre, or Mission Impossible (I got as far as the play screen on that one, tried to click play and NOTHING happened), Fantastic Four, even one of the newer Disney films and no luck. For Christ's Sake the movies belong to us, as does the blue ray player! I don't feel I should have to pay for an update, especially since I really don't have the damned money to update a BRAND NEW BLUE RAY PLAYER. Is there any way to get around this highway robbery? Keep in mind I'm trying to watch the movies on my computer, my perfered mode of film viewing, but I can't. I have NO intention of stealing anything or selling the movie to anyone, I just want to watch the damned thing on my computer! I paid for them so should be able to view them on any device that plays blue ray discs! Any suggestions or am I s**t out of luck???
