how to setup ftp server on cloud9

i have tued on ftp mounts in cloud9 preferences . i have to enter Name, hostname useame, password and remote path as specified in the link below https://docs.c9.io/docs/ftp-mounts.

I tried entering ip address which came when i typed ip addr show in the terminal but it failed. I tried entering random hostname and host address but didnt work either.

Please help me with what to enter in hostname , and remote path. i read a post on another forum which said ask service provider for host address or name but how do i ask cloud9 for the same?

the problem i am having is i want to upload and download files to/from remote server from a c# school project i am doing. So how and where should i solve this problem if the above ftp method does not work? are there any alteatives?
