TightVNC Screen Issues

So, I run a TightVNC Server (2.7.3) on a Windows 10 machine with the follow specs:

• i5
• 8Gb RAM DDR3
• 1TB HDD (No RAID)
• Intel HD 6000 Integ Graphics

I run the client java viewer supplied by TightVNC on a Windows 7 machine

• Intel ATOM
• 2Gb RAM (DDR?)
• 250Gb HDD (No RAID)
• Intel Mobile Graphics Accelerator

When coected (with and without SSH) to the remote machine from the win7 device, the remote screen will refresh rapidly to the point of unusability. Does anyone know what could be causing this (and how to fix it) or different software?
