Computer Charger Smells, Computer won't tu on

So my lenovo laptop yesterday shut off and wouldn't tu on. The thing that's supposed to hold the charger in place broke so I have to jam the charger in, and this time when I when I plugged it in the computer shut off with no lights coming on, and the charger and the thing you plug it into smell.
