Disabling "No Source Signal" message from HP Monitor

I have an HP W2071d monitor, and when I use a software program to tu off the display (not the power, just the input), it displays a "No Source Signal" message on the screen that keeps the screen lit. I have a HP S2031 monitor, and that does not display anything. Is there any way I can display this message?
