In multi-point conference calls, volumes of the participants tend to be random. For example:
- A participant may have a more sensitive microphone (or higher gain) than others. When this participant speaks, the listeners want to tu down the volume.
- A participant may have a less sensitive microphone than others. When this participant speaks, listeners want to tu up the volume.
Nobody wants to adjust volume all the time. Suppose everyone adjusts their microphones such that speech is at a certain level, say -30 dB and background at -60 dB, using some tool such as Audacity. Would this work? Or is there a way to adjust the playback gain of individual participants (I for one have not found it)? Why does Lync not show what level I am transmitting? It would be so much easier to adjust the gain if it did. Or am I not getting something?
