When playing audio in some tab, Chrome adds 'Sound Activity Icon' to all other tabs

I'm writing an application that is doing some monitoring to the web pages titles. I've noticed that when you play audio from a tab, chrome adds the 'Sound Activity Icon' to all other tabs (even if they don't play sound). The icon isn't noticeable on the browser, but I definitely see this issue with 'Son of grab' program. Is it a known issue?
