redirect output from COM1 on windows to a remote file on unix

Im trying to send the output from COM1 on my windows machine to a file on my aix server but its not working, so far i have tried commands like this:

type com1: | plink -v hostname -l useame -pw password >> /tmp/output.txt

any help is appreciated
