Are usb ports from old laptops reusable for other laptops?

My old laptop Acer Aspire 5000 is dead. Its usb ports on the motherboard are still good. See pictures below.

My another laptop Thinkpad T400 happens to have the inside middle black "separator" in two of its usb ports broken.

Can the old laptop's usb ports be reused to replace the broken ones on the other laptop? How can I uninstall and install usb ports from and on the motherboards?
