windows 10 upgrade on my d drive while it is already on c drive

I have two drives a c and d. Windows10 is upgraded on c drive. My question is why I can't keep my windows 7 on my d drive without windows 10 wanting to upgrade on this drive as well. Your co-operation regarding this matter is greatly appreciated. John
