Show columns from a tab delimited text file in notepad++

there is an Question of how to select a tab delimited column in Notepad++, but I would like to see the columns, i.e. ajust the tab width so that White space is introduced in order to prevent text/values from one column being displayed under the heading of another column. I have seen this feature once, but unfortunatly can not remember if it was Notepad++ or another Texteditor.

Example: the following text where t denotes the tab

column_1 t column_2
one t two
93123122133421243 t four

should apear like this

column_1          t column_2
one               t two
93123122133421243 t four
