Wiped thermal paste off heatsink by mistake

I wanted to clean a very dusty heatsink but by mistake I wiped the part with the thermal paste.

The cpu still has its thermal paste on it

I replaced the heatsink, is it ok to use it as is and apply thermal paste as soon as I can get some? (in the next day or 2)
