Switching workspaces in Xfce

I remote into Windows from Xfce on Debian Linux. One of my workspaces in Xfce hosts the Windows desktop. When using Linux, I use Ctrl+Alt+left/right arrow to switch workspaces in Xfce. However, when my mouse focus is in the Windows desktop, the Linux shortcuts no longer work. So, I have to use mouse to switch workspaces. Can you please suggest a way to quickly zap out of the windows desktop window and be able to cycle through linux workspaces thereafter?
