I've recently made a Live USB bootable Kali Linux version to run on my Late 14 Macbook Pro. I was having trouble getting it to identify my network card, and found that it was because the BCM4360 Broadcom driver had some issues with linux.
However, I tried ALL the solutions on the inteet like adding the non-free packages to apt-get/sources.list, updating, installing headers and so on, but whenever i get to the point of
modprobe wl
I get the same response every time:
modprobe: FATAL: Module wl not found.
I might think, that the problem lies within this command, but I am not certain
apt-get install linux-image-$(uname -r|sed 's,[^-]*-[^-]*-,,') linux- headers $(uname -r|sed 's,[^-]*-[^-]*-,,') broadcom-sta-dkms
I seem to get some kind of error message, that I'm not able to understand, that seems related to the wl:
wl:
Ruing module version sanity check.
- Original module
- No original module exists within this keel
- Installation
- Installing to /lib/modules/4.4.0-kali1-amd64/updates/dkms/
depmod....
: Unable to find an initial ram disk that I know how to handle.
Will not try to make an initrd.
I've tried everything out there, so I was hoping to get some new input to go with.
