What else are you going to plug a computer in if not a surge protector or directly to the outlet itself? A UPS is a fancy UPS that also has a battery. If you are making statements like, because of unplugging it correctly like pulling the coector off it was just the rubber peeling off and other rubbers with metal inside with contacts, that is an indication you are unplugging it incorrectly. – Ramhound 7 mins ago

It was either a really cheap cable or somebody unplugged it incorrectly. If the cable is damaged, you should just replace it, I wouldn't trust anyone's opinion if they didn't physically look at the cable themselves. – Ramhound 5 mins ago

So the cable was abused in some way, using damage cables in general even when repair, is not a safe thing to do. – Ramhound 43 secs ago
