Thesis Statement is the basic of an essay --- How can it highlight in an essay?

I am facing a challenging task since last week. I am interest in essay writing and I would like to write an essay about the topic “digital leaing and education”. While searching more about essay writing I found thesis statement is the basic of every essay. I don’t have any idea about thesis statement. How can I use a thesis statement? What is its importance? Help me for writing perfect thesis statement.
