Problems during a T2265+ printer installation

I have a Tally 2265+ printer and I am facing the following problems:

• The printer only "prints" by applying force and not ink from the ribbon at all.
• It "prints" chinese symbols instead of letters (bad encoding?).

Conceing the first problem I followed this video : video tutorial for changing ribbon case , but still the problem persists.

I wonder if both the above problems are driver related or not, since the PC to whom I coected the printer is a part of a greater network and does not have admin rights, I could not get access to properly install the printer.

I understand that this might cause the chinese symbols instead of the letters I wanted to print, but could it cause problems regarding the ink issue I stated above?
