Need Linux LiveCD - NTFS, LAN, Persistant USB support

Please recommend Linux Live CD which can access NTFS drives & Windows LAN network.

I'm trying Scientific Linux Live CD, but i'm not able to access NTFS drives [also not able to install ntfs-3g]. Although, I'm able to access the Inteet, Not getting access to LAN network [Windows PCs].

It would be better if I could make a persistent bootable Live USB instead of buing to a CD.
