TEAC HDR2500T PVR sync problems, using 1TB USB 2.0 Toshiba, is SSD faster?

All SSDs USB HDs these days get coected to USB 3.0 and are a waste to coect to USB 2.0. But I am asking if I need to buy a SSD for the TEAC with its USB 2.0 port as the Toshiba USB 2.0 HD possibly caot record two programs at once and lip syncing appears sometimes? Is the rotating disk here the bottle neck?
