I created a new document in Open Office Writer (Apache Open Office 4.1.2), and then created a 3 column, 14 row table, of which I changed some of the colors from the Auto-Format designation. After centering the cells, I clicked on the fist cell and began typing but no characters were displaying. The text cursor was there and blinking and when I typed letters it moved to the right, just as it would normally do when typing a word-style document, however no characters were appearing in the cell no matter how much I kept typing.

I tried resetting the default table properties, but I still encountered the same problem. Unless Apache Open Office has developed a new 'ghost-type' font for it's Writer program (and really---what would be the point of that?!), then I just don't know what else to do. I've never had this problem in Microsoft Word, because whenever I created a table in that program, I was able to start typing text inside any of the cells of the table I created right away by simply clicking on the cell and begiing to type. Apparently you can't do this in Open Office Writer...

If anyone has experienced this issue and/or knows how to solve it I would really appreciate it. I just want to know how can I type inside the cells of a newly created table in Open Office Writer?
