Coecting external ip to multiple localhosts

I know how to link an exteal IP adress to my localhost, but there are so many computers coected to the same router, if ever each one of them wanted to create its own website. An additional IP must be requested from the ISP, that means an additional wire ? Or is there any routing manipulation that Hosting companies do ? Since whenever a new person purchases a hosting plan it's granted immediatly.
