Saving of sticky note contents

I tend to cross off the 'cross' icon to the right coer of the sticky note and as there is no way of saving the content, loose it forever.. what is the solution?

I wish a change is made in this system wherein some of the following are considered, i.e. either:

1. A save function is introduced so that inadvertent crossing off does not lead to loss of sticky note content; or

2. When one crosses it off by mistake, an alert saying 'did you really mean to dispose off' could be a prop that appears on doing so.
