I was replacing HDD with SSD on my laptop.

I have everything working except suspend mode - laptop goes suspend fine, but would cold-boot instead of resuming. syslog is simply cut at the moment of resume. pm-suspend.log is also "cut", i.e. doesn't show resume script activity.

OS: Linux Mint 17.3 x64 Ciamon, upgraded from 17.2 Swap encrypted via LUKS Home encrypted via ecryptfs

Laptop: ASUS Zenbook UX32LN ~2014

HDD: HGST 1Tb

SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256Gb

Details and what I did:

  1. Moved HDD to exteal USB rack, booted from it.
  2. Accidentally suspended, and laptop didn't resume - just booted
  3. Inserted SSD, partitioned (UEFI, boot, swap, root, home)
  4. Moved data to all partitions (except swap) via cp -af, reconfigured crypttab, fstab, grub config etc.
  5. Laptop started from SSD fine, except suspend mode was broken
  6. Tried to boot from HDD by inserting it back - booted, but suspend was also broken
  7. Found out that I had swap broken on SSD, reconfigured it properly (unencrypted for now) - no effect
  8. Tried to add RESUME=UUID=<swap-uuid> to /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume and update - no effect

ATM it seems that either pm-utils don't setup awake mode properly, or keel can't awake for some reason. I can of course reinstall Mint from scratch, though I don't consider this as proper way.

So the question is, where should I look to re-enable suspend mode?
