Open SSH / missing files

Confession! I don’t know what I am doing! At least I am at the edges of understanding what has happened and what I might be able to do to put things right.

A couple of weeks ago we had a power cut. I thought my Drobo 5N had some built in protection against such things. However, the files were no longer accessible. The capacity of the drive showed that they were still there, but I couldn’t access them.

I think I made a mistake. I mounted a new share. I say that as if I know what I am saying! I don’t fully understand.

Now the drive was shown as blank, with full capacity available, and I still could not access any files that might have been there.

I have thrashed about on the inteet for a while and there seems to be some hope in resurrecting the files via something called Open SSH.

Can anyone PLEASE point me in the direction of what I should be doing, or of some sort of comprehensive resource which might help me? Even an opinion that I am stuffed, that I have lost everything, would actually be helpful!
