Do I need RAID array to use ssd caching?

I have a 500GB Hard disk and a 32GB SSD, both shows as drive in the system. I want to be able to use the 32GB Drive for SSD-caching, via Intel Rapid Storage Technology. My Elitebook 840 g1 bios show AHCI mode.

Do I need to setup these two drives in RAID mode and only then I can configure the SDD caching? Can I not setup SSD caching with AHCI mode?
