How do I coect to my MacBook Air from my iMac on the command line?

I know how to use Finder to coect to a shared device. But, I would like to be able to do so from the command line.

From Finder, I would find the name of my MacBook Air and then coect to the appropriate user listed.

I've tried a number of searches on-line. But most of the sites I find already assume you have the device mounted. I want to know how to mount it. These are places I've looked

The second of these looked really useful. But after a number of attempts, I can only conclude that I don't understand the syntax or I don't know how the domain or server translate between the only information that I do know (computer name and user name).

Could someone point me to a dummies guide of how to do this? Or, just suggest something?

Additionally, when I open Finder, it seems to be able to see the devices available that I can coect to. Is there a way to see such devices working form the command line?
