Download speed lowers when upload speed lowered

I am using uTorrent as a way of downloading a large number of .ISO files.

When i set the upload rate the the lowest speed of 1kB/s my download speed on the .ISO files drop dramatically.

how can i set the upload rate to the lowest possible speed (0 if possible) without it affecting my download speed?
