Preventing Firefox to visit what's typied as search keywords in address bar

I often type search keywords directly in Firefox address bar to make a Google search. Sometimes Firefox attempts to add "www" and ".com" to these keywords and visit that, which almost always fails. Any way to prevent this behavior and ensure that only Google searches are made?
