how do i sync files to an external drive in windows 10?

okay, so I have a USB HDD that I use with my TV as a media drive, and I want to know if there is a way to; when I plug it into my laptop, automatically sync a specific folder on the pc to a specific folder on the drive, and if I leave it in, sync any changes in real time, I am ruing windows 10 Home, if you need any more details just ask, I would preferably like to do this without any third party software, if not I can download and install something.
