How to run logon script for RDP users

I have a very simple login script ( login.bat ) containing the following line:

start chrome

I want the logon script to run for any user who logs in via RDP. I've set the script as a so called Logon script in Local Group Policy Editor (at path User Configuration/Windows Settings/Scripts (Logon/Logoff)/Logon) but it doesn't seem to work as intended. It gets run if I reboot the computer and log in for the first time. But any login after that (via RDP) does not trigger the script to run.

Does anyone have any idea on how to get it ruing on every login?

Note: My bat script actually mounts a network drive, so the above script content is just to simplify the example. Neither works. Both scripts work as intended if they are manually run.
