Just like the title says, recently I've been noticing that when I'm selecting a group of items in a folder if I select some and click and drag over them again it deselects them. My system drive has suddenly lost it's file structure and I'm trying to find a way to get it back to life without reinstalling OS. Is it real to make this beast work again without enormous amounts of time or should I just recover all the crucial stuff and reinstall everything? I did a System Restore to a version from yesterday. I did a couple of attempted restarts (they were failing b/c of a change in the BIOS) That wasn't the cause of the problem (which I've not fixed: BIOS got changed somehow.). You are seeing it because a driveletter was assigned to it. From DiskManagement, rightclick the partition, and choose Change drive letter and path, and remove the drive letter. I have three ordinary user accounts on Windows 10, and one admin account. I want to back up the three ordinary users' files to an exteal drive -- but I want the backup to run as the admin. I've installed Linux subsystem for Windows 10 it works fine , but I want change default shell environment for the subsystem. My problem seems to be that my Windows 10 profile was somehow corrupted while I was working on Ubuntu 16.04. I'm not entirely sure what happened, however I do know that logging in caused me to be directed to a temporary profile. I quickly Googled the matter and followed this guide which directed me to deleting my profile's registry keys. I am currently in the process of re-configuring my laptop, in order to allow me to use full-disk LUKS encryption (including the /boot partition) (See this article).
