Whenever the computer starts you have a single chance to open a application through menu bar. I have set up 2 users both as administrators. It is a home computer and we do not require password protection. I am the normal user and have managed to set up so that I login without having to enter password . However whenever my family switches to his user the login screen forces him to write his a password, and when i switch back from his session to mine Im forced to put my password again. I am often on assignment and sometimes I forget to document my work. E.g. write down output from different one off tools. Is there a way to automate that via .bashrc? I have a PDF file. The pages display vertically, one after another, one at a time. I would like the PDF to display 2 pages at a time, one page next to the other horizontally, like laying out a book flat. Users can do this with a menu option in the PDF reader, but I would like the file to behave like that on its own, without any need for the user to do anything. Is this possible? Thanks either way. i just bought a plantronics rig 500e i couldn't figure out why microphone input catches everything that goes through from output. For example, when i listen to a music or even when someone in a voice chat speaks, they can hear back. It doesn't need to be too loud. It happens even when i detach the microphone from the headset or set the microphone volume to zero. My computer screen will not switch on. All I see is a blank blackness. It's been like this for a while but I feel like a year might pass and I would not see any sort of display. How do I switch between input methods with iBus on the lock screen? Part of my work necessitates me using iBus for Chinese pinyin input. I had the misfortune of leaving the input method on pinyin while I went off to lunch, and the computer locked itself. When I tried to log in, iBus took everything as a pinyin input and inserted Chinese instead into the password field. Ctrl-space didn't do anything.
