I have a home network built around an ancient computer that I've tued into a router, running Debian Wheezy. The wireless part is based on a TP-LINK TL-WN851ND PCI card on the hardware side, and uses hostapd on the software side. Now, I have recently obtained a new phone, on which I am running CyanogenMod 12.1 (equivalent to Android 5.1). This device can connect to my wireless network, but most network operations (e.g. downloading things) result in timeouts, requiring retries. Fetching emails ove...

Have a mostly Ruckus AP wifi environment outside the US. Having issues with our Motorola ET1 staying connected after going to sleep, (we have similar setup in other Ruckus environments with no issues). Comparing this environment with a similar Ruckus setup without the wifi drop issues, a network engineer suggested that maybe enabling 802.11d on the switches could help. Could having a US device with 802.11d enabled, on a network with 802.11d disabled cause connectivity issues? If so, could you ex...

A barracuda VPN client was installed in my windows 10 machine which was not working. I simply uninstalled the VPN and restarted my machine as required. Since the next boot my windows can't access inteet through either wifi or Etheet port. It can connect to the wifi hotspot though but always says "No inteet". Same goes for etheet port too. I am sure that my wifi is working because I'm using my mobile to ask this question here that is using the same hotspot. Please help. The only way left at this ...

I have 2 PCs. One is a desktop with Windows 7, the other is a laptop with Windows 10. The windows 10 laptops connects fine. The windows 7 desktop says that the connection is limited. It is connected to the router with an Etheet cable. I have tried running the Windows Network Troubleshooter, which says it cannot detect the problem. I have also tried disabling the network adapter and enabling it again. Finally, I have rebooted many times. What is causing this issue and how do i fix it? Let's block...

My setup is as follows: An old Billion 400G router, not connected to the inteet A new D-Link USB-HSPA/3G inteet stick I need to connect to the router via WiFi to be able to print (I have a Canon 217w connected to the router via WiFi), as well as the inteet stick for inteet connectivity. However, when both are connected, Windows indicates that there is limited connectivity on both connections - in other words, it doesn't pick up inteet from the stick when the laptop is also connected to WiFi. Not...

When doing a git clone of a repo over SSH or HTTP, you get output that looks something like this: Cloning into 'some_directory'... remote: Counting objects: 7, done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (5/5), done. remote: Total 7 (delta 0), reused 5 (delta 0), pack-reused 0 Unpacking objects: 100% (7/7), done. Checking connectivity... done. I'm interested in that last "Checking connectivity" step. It happens after the repo and all of its metadata has been downloaded, i.e. well after any inteet...
