How to configure CIFS that local and domain users have fast transfer speeds? I do have massive performance issues using CIFS / SMB / Samba in combination with users. It's independent from Active Directory (AD) being enabled or disabled. Local as well as domain users transfer data really slow. There as guest user is fine. So Chrome freaked out one day and wouldn't load any pages. After completely uninstalling and reinstalling and reinstalling again using the dev chael and tuing off account sync and removing all history from the servers (ouch), I actually got it to work again as a browser but all my extensions are dead. They show the little puzzle piece (like in this question) and when I try to access the options or use them I get ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND. I have tried uninstalling them all countless times, via right-click and via the trashcan icon in the chrome://extensions/ interface. When I open Chrome again they are back. I need a small script to download some programs. The URL's never change but the files do. Like when you download malwarebytes. Example: "https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mbam_current/" The address doesnt change but the file name downloaded does. Every script i see, requires that you specify a file name. I dont want to do that, I want the script to pull the filename from the sites header which would include the version name of that file in that filename. I cant seem to find any way of doing this. Ruing a cPanel server with ModSec. Trying to upload media to WordPress, any file larger than ~ 125KB is throwing a 404. In the Apache error logs, I found this being written on failed uploads: ModSecurity: Input filter: Failed to create temporary file /tmp/mod_security/20160827 Disabling ModSec restores functionality, but I hate to do that and would rather figure out what the issue is. I have a .vmdk file i exported from the Noxapp (android emulator), i tried to extract files with 7zip , there are 3 .img files. I have 1 NAS, with 2TB of Storage, 4 Exteal USB HDD Drives from 250Gb to 1TB, a lot of USB Flash Drives. They all have some duplication of files as I have copy them from one to another to safe keep. Now with a lot of these it is getting out of hand. I want to upload them all to the Cloud. Especially after I seen some of my picture and video getting bit rot. Few weeks back I tried tuing on my old PC as I wanted to use it as a spare Television. After tuing it on, I realized it was having blue screen problem, so I tried re-installing windows XP but installing in previous windows XP drive(C) failed as a result I installed windows in F drive. After successful installation I booted my new windows from dual boot and started wiping data from C drive, at first I tried formatting C drive which failed then I started deleting individual files from C drive. I am ruing Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and am using Vagrant to run a Ubuntu 14.04 Server with a LAMP stack setup. I am working on a Laravel 5.2 project, but constantly have issues with the permissions in the storage folder/sub-folders. Currently, the folders are owned by my user/group. Anytime some file needs to be created or written too, I get a permission denied error. I can fix this with by chmoding the files to 777. This however does't fix the issue of having the problem when a new file is made (for sessions). I could set the files/folder to inherit permissions of 777. This is fine for a development server I suppose, but I would like to do this the right way, not just the fast way. What permissions...

I recently opened ~70+ Excel files all at one time (it was a massive data dump from a database which I was going to be locked out of in about 30 minutes, so I wanted to grab everything I could conceivably need). Unsurprisingly, my Excel crashed from the load. Upon restarting Excel, the Document Recovery pane opened and showed me all of the files. Is there a way to automatically have all the files in the Document Recovery Pane open up? I don't want to have to manually go through and open up 70+ documents by hand.
