I have a room full of machines that I have been upgrading from home to pro (Windows 10). All machines that are NOT aiversary update 1607 can be joined to a domain with no issues. All that are the aiversary update will allow me to join to the domain and it restarts and asks for the useame and password. Put in my credentials and it provides a generic "caot log you in" error message. I've also noticed lusrmgr.msc is missing (Local users and groups) in all of these 1607 upgrades. The earlier build -- no issues and lusrmgr is available. It's my understanding pro should be able to be joined to a domain. Is this not the case? Thanks ahead of time! :) Let's block ads! بخوانید...

I use 2 GPUs on a machine (GTX770), and I have 2 screens coected to the 2 outputs (DVI1 and DVI2). I CANNOT decide to plug a screen on one GPU and the other on the other GPU (for good reasons... ;-) ). Let's name MS the main screen: the end-user interact with it. Let's name TS the other screen (technical screen, which is used by our system for technical stuff). My issue: when the system boot (Linux version 3.1.9-1.4-desktop (geeko@buildhost) (gcc version 4.6.2 (SUSE Linux) ), sometime the keel boot messages are displayed on MS, some other time, they are displayed on TS. I want they are always displayed on MS, because when the boot fails, I can't afford the user being in front of a black scre...

I have Fedora 24 installed using Hyper-V on top of Windows 10 (aiversary update) Trying to get the Hyper-V vGPU working, but Fedora does not recognizing it, and it doesn't even recognizing the video device if i don't have the vGPU enabled. Anyway to get some video acceleration or even just fullscreen working on this setup or should i look at different Hyper-visors? Side Question: Would i be better off testing this with Server 2016 - Which has pass through? I started this expedition after i noticed keel 4.6 is suppose to support Hyper-V better than previous versions. Let's block ads! بخوانید...

I have read this post however I still have a question. I understand that saying 32 bit processor implies registers of size 32 bit long each of which can hold up to 2^32 data. My question goes little bit further. So during the execution cycle, how does 32bit register span into the main memory? In order word, does it mean that each register can deal with 2^32 memory addresses so that any instruction in this region can be fetched in one clock cycle? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

Don't look for the drivers on inteet, /sbin/vboxconfig builds them. The problem was the old drivers were still present and preferred. So I removed the old drivers and ran /sbin/vboxconfig again, this time it worked.sudo mv /lib/modules/3.16.0-4-amd64/updates/dkms/vbox* /tmp(Moving to /tmp instead of rm just in case)The directory may vary, I found it in the first command in my question with lsmod then modinfo. Then sudo /sbin/vboxconfig and it should work The new drivers are in /lib/modules/3.16.0-4-amd64/misc/ (No need to reboot.) Let's block ads! بخوانید...

I have been searching around and comparing specifications to build a budget gaming PC. On the Intel site, i have been comparing CPUs and I noticed that the I3 CPUs, while only having 2 physical cores as usual, have 4 threads, meaning that they are hyper threaded. But with the I5 CPUs on the other hand, they have 4 physical cores and 4 threads, meaning that they are not hyper threaded, which is kinda weird for intel to hyper thread the I3s and I7s but not the I5s. As common knowledge, virtual cores (made by hyper threading) are of course, less powerful than physical cores. but the I3 CPUs also have significantly more clock speed, with the I3 CPUS varying between 3.3 and 3.9 GHz, and the I5 CP...

I've used both plugins (independently of each other) off and on the last year or so and I'm trying to understand the differences between them; specifically how "scopes" work. In Policeman, there are a number of sites under Origin. I have the impression that if site A loads site Y, site B loads site Y, and site Y loads site Z, if I configure rules for site Y about site Z they apply when sites A and B load site Y. In uMatrix the blue box specifies scope, which appears to be global, site.com, specific.site.com, and the like. This seems different from how Policeman works. My common use case example is youtube - I want to configure everything once for youtube (site Y) relative to ytimg, googlevid...

I've been following this article (http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1498-page1.html). I'm new to most of it. I assume it is not an issue because Scythe Mugen is highly rated...I'm wondering how a heat-sink that weighs 650 grams attached to the motherboard will effect the board on the long run? It depends. It completely depends on what you're programming. If you are programming apps or need to use programming tools that require higher resource usage then I'd go with #1 and even go up to 16 GB ram. BUT, in general, both are perfectly fine. You can even get a laptop with lower spec and it should be fine. Again, it depends. Oh, and GPU only matter if you are programming graphics related software. I mean, do you need good graphics card to develop a servlet? No. Let's block ads! بخوانید...

Just noticed something as I was playing around with the Startup folder of the Default user in both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10: For some reason, on all of my installs of Windows 10, the Default user's startup folder does not exist where it should be, C:UsersDefaultAppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup, whereas in Windows 8.1 it exists. I've seen on the web that it apparently was replaced with C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartUp starting in Win7, but I have this path in Win8.1 but not Win10. Win10 goes up to the Programs folder, then Startup doesn't exist. If I manually create the Startup folder in C:UsersDefaultAppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgr...

I wanted to do pdf to html conversions in GPU. In case of integrated graphics cards, it is not having its own RAM. So in those cases, transfer overhead will never be there. So in case of pdf to html conversion, parallel processing and size of file are considerations. Size of file will never be too large. Even though transfer overhead may be a problem if we use dedicated cards. If we use integrated cards, this problem wont be there. Considering Parallel processing, I think, parallelization could be achieved page-wise. Will it work? Is there any parallel or GPU implementations for pdf to html conversions? (Till now I could not find any one) I have already posted in http://stackoverflow.com/que...

My CPU has 18 cores, and, due to hyperthreading, 36 logical processors. However, VMware player's highest option in settings is a 16 processor virtual machine. Is there a reason for this? I have tried Googling, but have been able to find no answer. This is frustrating, as I would like to bring all my computational resources to bear. I am on a Windows 10 host, using VMware Workstation 12 player to virtualize Ubuntu 16.04, and I have a Xeon E5-2697 v4. Let's block ads! (Why?)...

I have a system that was ruing Windows 10. It was originally a DreamSpark Windows 7 Professional key that was installed as Windows 7 and then upgraded to Windows 10 back in March. Recently, the hard drive died and I need to reinstall Windows. I want to get back on Windows 10, but I'm not sure which version to install. Also, the hard drive is 100% dead and I have no access to the data on it. Can I install Windows 10 and use the original Windows 7 key to activate it outside of the upgrade period? Or should I install Windows 7 and redo the whole upgrade path with the assistive technologies "exploit"? Let's block ads! بخوانید...
