I have a MacBook Pro and I ran Bootcamp to install Windows 10 Pro x64. All is well with both OS's. I know that I can't encrypt the entire Bootcamp drive, but everything I've read points to being able to use EFS to encrypt a folder, which is sufficient for me. I encrypted a folder, it went through the process, but never showed the directory as green. To confirm that it did not work, I booted to the OSX partition and was able to open all the folders on the Bootcamp partition, including the folder that has encryption tued on. I have an issue where files are not always being encrypted. I did a right click and set to encrypt all and subfiles and when files were dropped they kept being encrypted. As of right now, new files are not being encrypted and not sure why. I have 12 laptops setup with EFS on the /USers/$USER$/. None of these laptops are AD managed. I wanted to convert a bunch of NEF (Nikon camera RAW files) to JPG with IrfanView (I remembered it had such an option), but it wouldn't work—it started the batch but just gave errors like: Error! I have an encrypted file. I'm on a Windows Vista computer. I've wanted to use EFS for a little while but I wanted to experiment on some individual files first. While doing that, I backed up my certificate and key, reset my password, and imported the old key. Everything was fine and I could access the files that I experimented on. After I was convinced that it was safe, I decided to encrypt most of my files. I imported the old key and certificate that I had previously backed up before doing so. When I was done I reset my password just like before and imported the old key again, but this time I can't access any files. I've imported it several times but I continue to get "Access Denied" for any encrypted file. So what h...
