ادامه مطلبMy site http://iosre.com is built upon discourse. It remains unreachable after setting up fail2ban. I've asked the question on their official forum, but their staff said it may be a general server problem and suggested superuser. I guess my website may be under attack, but since I'm not a server expert, I have no idea what to do the fix or track down the problem. Any ideas? Thanks! Let's block ads! بخوانید...

ادامه مطلبA few machines I use are dual-boot Windows (10, 8 and XP) and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Occasionally, I've intentionally hibeated Windows or have forgotten to use powercfg -h off in Windows before shutdown, so hiberfil.sys was left on the HDD. Though it is a good thing that Ubuntu prevents booting to Linux in those cases, preventing loss or corruption of Windows files, there is no waing, earlier, in the grub(x) bootloader, that Ubuntu should not be selected. Is there a simple addition to the bootloader that could wa the absent-minded, YMHS, that selection of Linux would fail, e.g. "graying-out" the Ubuntu options, or a printed waing? This would help prevent confusion and save the time of having to h...
ادامه مطلبI have recently setup SPF and DKIM on my mail server. This works as expected, and during testing when sending emails to my gmail account, Gmail displays a waing if the addresses don't match or the mailserver isn't authorized. It looks like this: enter image description here So far, I have not been able to configure Outlook 2010 or 2013 to show a similar waing. This is an important countermeasure for phishing attacks, and I would like to have Outlook clients show a waing if possible. Is this something Outlook can do natively, or is there a third party tool available? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

ادامه مطلبAfter having a problem with Windows 10 that stopped the UI from working I wanted to restart my computer. But now I have a new error I had before that I had forgot about. It tus off without a waing. After a minute or two of being on my computer just dies. It will probably go away with time, but sooner or later my computer will die suddenly. What should I do? ادامه مطلبSomething I've done but not yet identified has hosed my working-for-years GnusofflineimapGMail setup. Gnus gives me a bunch of errors like: Waing - invalid active: [Gmail].Starred 26 2 y for each of the 8 standard GMail folders being synced (Sent, Important, Trash, Spam, All Mail, Bin, Starred, and Drafts) and presents a *Group* buffer consisting of nothing but: 4: draft:drafts instead of the dozens of subscribed groups (mail folders) I expect to see. I find no relevant matches for 'invalid' in the Gnus manual, nor anything in multiple web searches. One piece of context: after this first happened, I checked my offlineimap logs and found there were a lot of folder UID errors, so I completely ...

ادامه مطلبI was tricked into downloading a .exe file in the Google Chrome browser, expecting a simple text file. I did click on the link that started the download, and I did click once on the download on the bottom left of my browser, where Chrome normally shows the downloadeds. In these cases, I expect Chrome and/or Windows to give me a waing about not ruing downloaded executables from untrusted sites, but I didn't get any. Chrome simply ran the executable showing me some kind of installer for some kind of download manager. Off course I killed the process as soon as I saw I ran the executable. But I don't know if this opportunity the executable had, is enough to cause damage. A scan by virustotal on ...
ادامه مطلبI have developed a custom protocol handler (let's call it "foo://") for use on my system by registering an executable at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTfooshellopencommand. So far, so good. I would like to send and receive links that use the foo:// protocol in emails. However, when I try to open one of these links in Outlook, I get the "This location may be unsafe" message below. I could just click "Yes" every time, but I would rather stop the message from appearing in the first place. I've found instructions for how to disable the waing altogether (e.g. here - Add a DWORD value "DisableHyperlinkWaing" = 1 to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftOffice...Common), but that's not what I'm after. Rather...
