Every once in a while I run a certain program (MATLAB) and it takes up too much memory. At this stage the physical mem is at ~100% and the computer barely works. I then terminate MATLAB and I can see the memory is freed on the task manager (image). However, it takes about 5-10 minutes until I have full control over my computer back. In these 10 minutes the computer gradually becomes usable, open programs get 'unfreezed', etc. I guess that if MATLAB consumed all the memory then some other program's data was saved in the swap mem, but is it okay for this process of 'recovery' to take such a long time? I am building a new desktop computer. I will be using 128GB of RAM. I know that is a lot, I am not interested in explaining why I need it. My question is how I should plan this out. I have 8 ports for RAM, Should I buy 8 16GB RAM sticks or one 128 GB stick. Other variances of 128 GB are also an option. If I enable overclocking and never tu it off, how will that affect my CPU? IIRC overclocking only kicks in when your CPU actually needs the extra processing power. Overclocking doesn't take affect on idle or when you're doing simple tasks like web browsing. I'm using the i7-6700k and it comes with 1 of the 4 cores overclocked to 4.2GHz while the other 3 cores are clocked at 4.0GHz. I've set all 4 cores to be overclocked at 4.2GHz and made no changes to the CPU voltage. I'm ruing two Noctua Industrial 120mm fans on my radiator at 3,000 RPM. I need a small script to download some programs. The URL's never change but the files do. Like when you download malwarebytes. Example: "https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mbam_current/" The address doesnt change but the file name downloaded does. Every script i see, requires that you specify a file name. I dont want to do that, I want the script to pull the filename from the sites header which would include the version name of that file in that filename. I cant seem to find any way of doing this. I hope this is the right place to ask this. My University lets students download a preconfigured executable of OpenVPN, where the settings are already branded in. Once you installed it, you just enter your credentials and you are coected. However, I noticed that it doesn't work anymore after the system is has been installed on is rebooted. If I install it, I get a successful coection with the VPN and can use it. If I restart my Laptop, it does not work anymore, but the Icons in the Tray still show a green screen. If I then uninstall it and reinstall it, without rebooting, it works again. The only difference in the log window when it's coecting, I notice when it does not work, one of the line...

I have unlocked my HTC device and installed TWRP and SuperSU. Then I accidentally leaked root access to one of Tencent's apps. The log says that the app has leaked root permission to KingRoot SDK: It uses root permission to execute something like 'kd -d krsdk.cert'. Then I removed its root access in SuperSU, however the app is still able to use root access. I then downloaded KingRoot, and it says that the device has already been rooted. I tried to unroot the device from KingRoot, however I could re-root it again with KingRoot. I tried restoring the device using a complete backup from the TWRP recovery (removing SuperSU and everything else just like factory default), but KingRoot still works....

I'm an L2 helpdesk guy and I have a user whose Lenovo L440 will not coect to wifi. The wifi icon in the notification area shows a red X and the "tu wireless on" button is greyed out in the Mobility Center. When she presses F8, it shows that wifi is on. The adapter is enabled and "allow to tu off to save power" is unchecked. We've reinstalled Pro/Set Wireless, and tried to install the adapter driver from the Device Manager. When I uninstalled the device there, checking the "remove driver" checkbox, it did not find the driver in Windows Update and I had to install Pro/Set Wireless from the Intel website. I've reinstalled the Hotkey Features Integration package and the Power Management driver. ...

I am asking because some minutes ago my month-old Lenovo Y700 desktop (ruing windows 10) suddenly restarted itself. This is the first time anything like this has happened before. No blue screens and no errors. I know it wasn't due to temperature or strain on my GPU as the only programs I had open at the time were Opera and Adobe Acrobat DC. The only other thing I can think of is a power surge as we've had that once before and it fried my laptop several years back. I've installed a surge protector on the electrical outlet so my question is was a power surge responsible for the sudden restart or should I look elsewhere? I need to make dual boot. One is windows seven and another one is hackintosh(partition 3) . I use EasyBCD to make dual boot. The problem is hackintosh is not loaded. Before it works well , but some reason i reinstall the windows 7 (deleted c & system reserved and created). Then after i got this problem. I also confused with visual BCD Editor I got error with boot path. so, How can i change partition and path of bcdedit?. I also need know boot path of partition 3.
